Clark & Daughtrey Receives
National Certification

Less than one year after Clark & Daughtrey began providing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) services, its program has been accredited by the American College of Radiology.

The ACR issued the three-year accreditation after radiology experts conducted a rigorous review and found that the program meets nationally accepted standards.

Accreditation means that a facility’s personnel “are well qualified”, and that its equipment is appropriate and meets or exceeds quality assurance and safety guidelines, the ACR says.

Magnetic resonance imaging is a noninvasive, usually painless test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. MR imaging uses a powerful magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to produce detailed pictures of organs, soft tissues, bone and virtually all other internal body structures.

Clark & Daughtrey began providing MRI services in June 2007, with the opening of its new Radiology Department in its new Main office building at 130 Pablo St. in Lakeland. In addition to MRI, the department offers diagnostic services with:

  • High-speed computed tomography (CT) scanner
  • Combination PET/CT scanner
  • Ultrasound
  • Digital x-ray

Clark & Daughtrey is currently seeking national accreditation of its other radiology services.

The American College of Radiology has accredited more than 14,000 facilities in nine areas, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), mammography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and computed tomography (CT).
